The 2022 Kent trouvaille 29er mountain bike is great if you're on a budget. This 398$ Walmart Mountain bike will be perfect for you if you're just getting in...The Kent Trouvaille and Ozark Trail (also from Kent) have better geometry and 1x drivetrains (with bad rear derailleurs, but that is a cheap fix/upgrade). They also have pretty good tires. The Schwinn Axum has good geometry, a clutch-like rear derailleur (but probably not good enough to keep for real riding longer term), and there is a version ...I also own a Kent Trouvaille which is twice the price and spending hundreds more to convert it to dedicated commuter. I'm adding things like an Iberra rack, city tires, panniers, an air fork as well as all 3 points of contact ie Ergon Grips, seat and pedals. With all the add-ons this is a costly route.
